HGA Hires John Chapman in Milwaukee, WI Office

Milwaukee, Wisconsin—HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has hired John S. Chapman, AIA, IIDA, as an associate vice president and principal in the Milwaukee office. He will bring innovative design solutions and provide project leadership for his clients in the firm’s Public|Corporate market sector.

“John has keen insight into the work environments for corporate and public clients today,” said James Vander Heiden, AIA, vice president and Public|Corporate Market Segment leader in Milwaukee. “He has demonstrated the ability to forge long-term strategic relationships with his clients, and is an enthusiastic collaborator who aligns well with HGA’s focus on integrated project delivery. We are excited to have him on our team as we continue to expand our planning and design services to our clients regionally, and expect him to provide strong contributions to our ongoing work within our national corporate client base.”

Chapman has more than 20 years’ experience leading project teams for corporate and public clients. He has become a recognized thought leader in the planning of corporate campus development, as well as corporate workplace strategies that have become vital to our clients long-term success. His experience includes services directly for corporate clients, as well as developer-driven delivery methods.

Before joining HGA, John led the corporate studio as a vice president with EUA (Epstein Uhen Architects) in Milwaukee for 14 years and with Flad Architects in Madison in previous years.

“I have a passion for bringing innovative design solutions to my clients, and look forward to utilizing the collective expertise and imagination of HGA’s corporate team to deliver carefully tailored and highly effective workplace solutions,” Chapman said. “I believe that successful architecture is based not only on the achievement of a design goal, but on the collaborative process by which the goal is achieved. Chapman has a Master of Architecture with Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies, also from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received a post-graduate Edward L. Ryerson Traveling Fellowship, which is award to University of Illinois architecture and landscape architecture students who demonstrate outstanding design ability, technical competence, and promise of professional leadership.

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association.
