Heyl Royster hires Joseph N. Rupcich, class of 00'

Joseph N. Rupcich – Associate
Joseph N. Rupcich represents clients in general tort litigation with a primary focus on defending government officials in cases alleging constitutional violations. Mr. Rupcich joined Heyl Royster after six years with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General where he gained extensive trial experience on civil rights litigation brought against state employees. He has handled numerous federal civil rights cases, including 25 trials in the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. In 2010, Mr. Rupcich was promoted to a position supervising other assistant attorneys general in the management of their caseloads and at trial. He has served as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at their training seminar for assistant attorneys general in Chicago. Prior to working at the Office of the Attorney General, Mr. Rupcich spent two years as an appellate law clerk for Justices John McCullough and Sue Myerscough.

Mr. Rupcich received his B.A. from the University of Illinois and graduated Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University School of Law, where he was a member of the SIU Law Journal.
