Five UIUC social work alumni honored by National Association of Social Workers Illinois Chapter

Five U of I School of Social Work alumni have been honored with awards of recognition. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Illinois Chapter is honoring these individuals for their contributions to the social work profession as well as to the lives of the people that social workers help to serve.

Janet Reckard ('81) is being honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for the East Central District.
Tonya Manselle ('83) is being honored as the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for the East Central District.
Charles Parr ('79) is being honored as the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for the Southern District.
Gregory Watson ('78)
is being honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for the Three Rivers District.
Karen Washington-Watson ('04) is being honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for the West Central District.

These awardees are being honored at district award events taking place this month around the state. You can read more about the award recipients at the NASW's website.
